SUMMARY:A Tribute to Henry Mancini
DESCRIPTION:A Tribute To Henry Mancini\nPresented by Luca & Lucca Productions\n \nHenry Mancini! Classical or Jazz? Well, Mancini’s music is sometimes hard to define as it ranged from soft melodic scores (“Days of Wine and Roses” and “Charade”) to the brassy big band sounds of (“Peter Gunn” and “The Pink Panther.”) In the latter part of the 20th Century, Mancini stood alone as the foremost composer, arranger, and musical director winning countless Oscar and Grammy awards.\nNow 30 years after the passing of this remarkable talent, local Grammy Nominated Bassist and Educator Daniel Lucca Parenti, and his prodigy 16 year old son Luca on drums, have assembled a 16 piece orchestra composed of some of the best “Top Call” musicians in the Bay Area to bring Mancini’s music to audiences once again.\nUtilizing a full rhythm section including Mancini’s favorite Vibraphone, plus Reeds, Brass, and of course Strings, Mancini’s best known compositions and arrangements come alive through the talent of Daniel, Luca, and the Luca & Lucca Orchestra. You’ll enjoy such classics as: “Peter Gunn, “Baby Elephant Walk,” “Moon River,” “Lujon,” and more.\nMancini and Parenti make for an enjoyable evening of entertainment.\nThe Luca & Lucca Orchestra features Luca Parenti (Drums), Daniel Lucca Parent (Bass), Mary Fettig (Sax, Flutes), Dann Zinn (Sax, Flutes), Steffen Kuehn (Trumpet), Erik Jekabson (Trumpet), John Gove (Trombone), Rich Lee (Bass Trombone), Todd Minson (French Horn), Jeremy Cohen (Violin), Joseph Hebert (Cello), Mark Clifford (Vibes), Don Turney (Piano), Jeff Magidson (Guitar) and more…\napprox. 1 hour 45 minutes, with one intermission\n
