HERE, BULLET is a musical short film, currently in pre-production, by Tony Nominated, award-winning director and actor Will Chase, and Bay Area, prize-winning composer Kurt Erickson. Based on Erickson’s critically acclaimed, award-winning song cycle of the same name, HERE, BULLET is a singular moment frozen in time, a 5-minute surreal snapshot of a man confronting the bullet, the very death-harbinger that will enter his body and end his entire existence. Based on the award-winning poem by acclaimed poet, author, and Iraqi War veteran Brian Turner, HERE, BULLET takes this radically innovative poetry, and sets a scene of raw, visceral power, forcing its Hero to call out in a musical barrage of defiance, horror, and ultimate resignation.
To bring visual life to the inanimate foe, sonic power and precision to the musical score, and honor the intricacies of the actual filming days, along with pre and post-production, Chase and Erickson have assembled a world-class team of filmmakers, visual artists, and musicians to bring the short film to life and help HERE, BULLET claim its place in concert halls, classrooms, museums, film festivals and homes across the globe.
