E4TT celebrates the release of its fifth recording, "Emigres & Exiles in Hollywood," with a concert featuring favorites by Erich Korngold, Miklos Rozsa, Alexandre Tansman, and more from the group's multi-year exploration of rarely heard chamber works and movie arrangements by the talented composers who fled persecution for LA in the 1930s and ‘40s. Instrumental in creating today's "Hollywood" sound, many went on to win multiple Academy Awards. Also on the program will be ”Cabaret Songs” (Brettl Lieder) by Arnold Schoenberg. E4TT (Nanette McGuinness, soprano, Abigail Monroe, cello, and Margaret Halbig, piano) will be joined by guest coloratura soprano Chelsea Hollow. Livestreamed (free, donations welcome) and in-person at the Berkeley Piano Club. E4TT's "Emigres & Exiles in Hollywood" recording is supported in part by grants from the Dennis Schuman Charitable Foundation and the Koret Foundation. E4TT's 2023/24 season is sponsored, in part, by grants from the Ross McKee Foundation and SF Grants for the Arts, and supported in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency.
