DAVIDE VEROTTA was born in Italy ad moved to San Francisco in 1986. A professor at UCSF in biomathematics and statistics for thirty years, he has been actively involved in the SF new music scene for many years and eventually left academia to concentrate exclusively on composing. He studied piano at the Milano and SF conservatories; composition at SFSU and UC Davis. He teaches piano and composition; seats on the board of the Friction quartet and SFCCO; is the current president of the SF chapter of NACUSA. He has received numerous commissions, competition prizes, and grants.
