As an art house in the center of SOMA neighbourhood of San Francisco, Atelier Kromatica is a venue that hosts classical music concerts, instrument sculpture workshops, and makerspace centered around keyboard instruments, with a sliding scale ticket sales/NOTAFLOF business model. By hosting at least one concert a month, programming a mix of keyboard music (classical, contemporary, and experimental) and chamber music in an industrial space, we rebuild the image of classical music into one with less elitism, and more relevance with the modern world. The venue focuses on approaching classical music from the lens of multidisciplinary artistic activity, offering a hub to bring together the Bay Area musical, immersive arts, and experience design communities. Atelier Kromatica is also a home base for deploying grand pianos around the Bay Area, both outdoor and indoor and often in nature, promoting relevance of keyboard music in everyday life through unconventional locations.
