The Resonance String Quartet Fellowship is founded and led by Tom Stone and Daniel Roberts, internationally recognised chamber musicians whose combined leadership reflects decades of artistic excellence, institutional collaboration and mentorship at the highest level.
The Resonance String Quartet Fellowship exists to equip professional quartets with the artistic, practical, and personal foundations—and real-world connections—needed to build sustainable and creatively relevant careers. Through a structured programme of mentorship, coaching, and community-building, participants will gain access to leading musicians, educators, and industry experts in areas including performance, wellbeing, management, and outreach. The programme encourages artistic excellence while addressing the practical realities of twenty-first century musical life.
The term fellowship reflects the programme’s dual commitment to professional development and collective growth. It creates a community of leading ensembles engaged in shared learning, collaboration, and mutual support. By fostering this network of artists, the Fellowship builds lasting connections and establishes and disseminates best practices that strengthen both individual quartets and the wider chamber music ecosystem. Our goal is to secure the future vitality of chamber music—on stage, in education, and within communities worldwide.
