Sound Palette is an interdisciplinary performance initiative created by harpist and composer Renée Qin as part of her artistic and academic exploration at Stanford University. Developed as a creative framework for integrating acoustic performance with generative visuals, electronic textures, and interactive media, Sound Palette began as a series of experiments investigating how sound and technology shape immersive artistic environments.
Sound Palette’s artistic vision is rooted in the fusion of art and technology. Sound Palette develops original performance works that explore how music, visual atmosphere, and digital systems can dynamically interact in real time. Rather than approaching performance as a fixed format, they experiment with structures that allow music and visual elements to inform one another dynamically. This includes the development of sensory-responsive instruments, audience-influenced systems, and narrative-driven multimedia compositions.
