Forces of Nature

With climate change on their minds, San Francisco’s beloved women’s chamber music ensemble The Bernal Hill Players performs a wildly varied program referencing Italian volcanoes, Brazilian rainforests, Japanese seas, English forests, New York rain showers, French spring mornings, Californian canyons, and Spanish solstices. The program features three newly composed pieces by Bay Area composers Davide Verotta, Jennifer Peringer, and Sarah Stiles, and also includes an international selection of pieces by Chus Alonso, Lili Boulanger, Sally Davies, and Toru Takemitsu,

Performed by: Martha Rodríguez-Salazar, flutes; Leah di Tullio, clarinets; Annelise Zamula, saxophones; Sharon Wayne, guitar; and Jennifer Peringer, piano.

This program is funded by InterMusicSF’s Musical Grant Program, and the Community Music Center’s Faculty Enrichment Grant.
