The SF Tango Academy will host a rare opportunity: an immersive Argentine tango music workshop. This is more than a workshop—it’s an investment in your artistic versatility and professional career development. From September 4–7, participants will study directly with four internationally acclaimed tango maestros — Guillermo Rubino (violin and strings), Pablo Lanouguère (double bass), Sumi Lee (piano), and Ramiro Boero (bandoneón). Accomplished performers, composers, and widely respected teachers — Latin Grammy winners and nominees alike — these artists carry forward the living tradition of tango from the city of its birth. This hands-on workshop is intended for intermediate, advanced, and professional string players, pianists, and bandoneonists. Participants will study tango's rhythmic structure, phrasing, techniques, and styles of interpretation, including the unwritten performance practices of a living tradition passed down directly by the maestros, generation after generation.
