Nippon Kobo, a new Japanese cultural event series that features chamber music performance paired with beverage tastings and visual arts, will present its inaugural. Nippon Kobo Ensemble, a collective of Bay Area musicians, will commission and premiere a new work by Erika Oba, a Japanese-American composer based in Berkeley, along with masterworks from Japan by Takemitsu, Hisaishi, and Karen Tanaka.
